A Legacy of Collaboration Beyond Borders Since 1964

The International Congress of Parasitology (ICOPA) is the flagship event for the global parasitology community, organized by the World Federation of Parasitologists (WFP). Since its inaugural meeting in 1964, ICOPA has become one of the most important events in the parasitological community.

Each ICOPA congress serves as an international stage for the advancement of parasitology, bringing together researchers, clinicians, and students from around the globe to share knowledge, discuss pressing issues, and cultivate collaboration beyond borders. With ICOPA 2026, we are celebrating the 16th gathering of our ever-expanding parasitological community, continuing the tradition that began more than 60 years ago.

ICOPA: A History & Future of Discovery

ICOPA serves as a platform to address pressing challenges within parasitology, from emerging diseases to the translation of scientific findings into policy. Our congresses provide invaluable opportunities for networking and collaborations that often lead to life-long partnerships.

By bringing together diverse voices from various regions and fields, ICOPA ensures that the global parasitology community can share experiences, and advance research across all corners of the world.

As ICOPA continues to evolve, it remains a unique milestone in the history of parasitology. Held every four years, our global stage allows for reflection on progress made and the future direction of the field.

Looking ahead to ICOPA 2026, we continue the tradition of advancing science through collaboration, inclusivity, and high scientific quality. Together, we can set the stage for impactful research, overcoming challenges, and shaping the next era of parasitological discovery.
